What exactly is a liver wrap?

A liver wrap is, like our herbal pillow for liver wraps, primarily a pillow into which herbs are placed and which is warmed up. It is important that all materials are natural, so the pillow should be made of 100% cotton and herbs. Then, a liver wrap is used by letting the herbs absorb some water or steam. After that, the warm and moist pillow is placed on the liver. The goal is to support the liver in its function as a detoxification organ, following the teachings of Hildegard von Bingen.

Our herbal pillow is characterized by the following points:

  • Selected feel-good herbs with an aromatic scent
  • 100% natural, even in the pillow cover
  • German craftsmanship: Our herbal pillows are hand-filled
  • Hildegard von Bingen: We formulated the herbal pillow based on the traditions of Hildegard von Bingen.

What are liver wraps used for?

The liver is the body's detoxification organ. Most substances in the blood are regulated by the liver; it stores vitamins and glucose and breaks down medications in the blood. Too many toxins from fast food, alcohol, and nicotine can overstrain the liver. Here, a liver wrap could support the liver so that it does not suffer problems.

Traditionally, liver wraps are used for gastrointestinal complaints, such as constipation, fasting, or detox cures. People with stomach bleeding, ulcers, or inflammation in the digestive system should not use liver wraps because they could excessively increase blood flow to the liver.

As a traditional remedy, there is no scientifically conclusive evidence proving the effect of liver wraps. When people use liver wraps, they hope, according to the teachings of Hildegard von Bingen or Paracelsus, for relief of their symptoms. Possibly, future studies will confirm the effects of liver wraps, but research is still very limited.

Liver wraps and psyche: Is there a connection?

A liver wrap cannot directly affect your psyche, as it is only meant to support liver function. However, indirect connections between the use of liver wraps and your psyche can occur. For example, relief of your symptoms through a liver wrap can have positive effects on your psyche.

At the same time, according to aromatherapy, a liver wrap could influence your psyche. When you use a liver wrap, it emits a fine and aromatic scent. This scent can potentially trigger psychological reactions in you, such as associating the scent with relaxation.

A liver wrap can therefore cause relaxation through its scent and warmth. Many people use liver wraps shortly before going to sleep for this reason. Increasingly, we also receive messages that the herbal pillow for liver wraps is used as a regular pillow and not as a liver wrap.

Liver wraps for fatty liver: Natural help

The use of liver wraps can be a supportive measure in the treatment of fatty liver. A liver wrap can help optimize liver function and reduce inflammation. However, note that a liver wrap is not suitable as a sole therapy but only as a complementary measure.

Using a liver wrap can stimulate blood circulation in the liver, allowing it to detoxify better. Pain in the liver area could be alleviated as a result.

Please keep in mind that fatty liver is a serious condition that requires medical treatment. Using liver wraps alone is not enough to reverse fatty liver.

Liver wraps and fasting: The ideal companion

A liver wrap during fasting can not only be relaxing but also promote liver detoxification. During fasting, the digestive system thoroughly cleanses itself. By supporting this with a liver wrap, blood circulation in the liver can be enhanced, which in turn helps neutralize toxins more effectively. You are welcome to try using liver wraps during your next fasting cure.

How is a liver wrap herbal pillow used?

We will go through the instructions in simple steps:

  • Place the herbal pillow in a sieve over a pot of warm water.
  • Leave it there until the pillow is moist and warm.
  • Place the herbal pillow on your right side of the abdomen, where the liver is located. Wrap yourself warmly in a blanket.
  • Enjoy about 20 minutes of pure relaxation.
  • Repeat this for 7 consecutive days.
  • After use, let the herbal pillow dry in fresh air.
  • We recommend a thorough foot bath with the herbal pillow on the eighth day. Boil it in a large pot of water for this.
  • Alternatively, you can keep the herbal pillow in the bedroom and use it as an herbal sleep pillow.
